Visible improvements can often be seen after just one IPL treatment, particularly for pigmentation and redness. However, optimal results typically develop over the course of a few treatments, with continued improvements as collagen production and skin healing occur. A series of 3-6 treatments is usually recommended for the best results, depending on your skin concerns.

IPL treatments are generally not painful. You may experience a mild sensation of warmth or a slight snap, similar to the feeling of a rubber band being flicked against the skin. Most clients find the treatment comfortable, and a cooling gel is applied to ensure your comfort during the procedure.

During an IPL treatment, a cooling gel is applied to the skin to protect it. A handheld device is then used to deliver light pulses to the treatment area. The treatment is quick, and while you may feel a mild warming sensation, it’s generally well-tolerated. After the treatment, the cooling gel is removed, and you may experience some redness that typically subsides within a few hours.

An IPL treatment usually takes between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Smaller areas, such as the face, can take around 30 minutes, while larger areas, like the chest or back, may take longer.

IPL is suitable for most skin types, and it is effective in treating a range of concerns, including pigmentation, sun damage, redness, broken capillaries, cherry angiomas, fine lines, and acne. It is not recommended for clients with darker skin tones or active tans, as the light may not differentiate well between the pigment in the skin and the targeted areas.
