Wrinkle Reduction

Consultations to reduce the appearance of lines & wrinkles

As we age, fine lines and wrinkles become more prominent, particularly in areas of facial expression. These wrinkles can be categorised into two main types: static and dynamic.

Static Wrinkles: Static wrinkles are visible lines and folds that remain present on the skin even when the face is at rest. They typically develop as a result of collagen and elastin breakdown, as well as a loss of skin elasticity over time.

Dynamic Wrinkles: Dynamic wrinkles, also known as expression lines, are caused by repetitive facial movements and muscle contractions over time. Unlike static wrinkles, dynamic wrinkles are only visible when specific facial expressions are made, such as smiling, frowning, or squinting.

The most common areas of concern are:

  • Glabella (frown lines)

  • Frontalis (forehead)

  • Orbicularis oculi  (crows feet)

  • Mentalis (chin)

  • Depressor anguli (around the mouth).
