How does LED work?

While we often associate light exposure with negative effects such as skin ageing and damage, light also has many positive influences on the body. It helps us produce vitamin D and provides energy and serotonin for example. It can also accelerate tissue healing.

The differences between the positive and negative effects of light are the amount and the parts of the light spectrum we are exposed to. Whilst on-going exposure to UV is very damaging, controlled levels of Red, Blue and Near Infrared light are clinically proven to be beneficial.

LED Phototherapy is the application of beneficial light to our skin to stimulate various cellular processes to produce a therapeutic effect. Dermalux® uses evidence-based wavelengths delivered at a skin-enhancing intensity and dose to activate cellular renewal and repair, fuel the manufacture of collagen and elastin, reduce inflammation and destroy acne causing bacteria.

When will I see results?

The results from LED are immediate and ongoing.
Post-LED, your skin will look brighter and more radiant. However, a series will help to stimulate collagen production, fight acne, calm irritation, reduce redness and improve overall skin health.
We recommend adding it to your monthly skin treatments for best results.

Is it painful?

Not at all! LED is warm and relaxing. In fact, many clients fall asleep!

What happens during a treatment?

Your skin will be cleansed and prepped. If you are having other skin treatments, these will be performed first.

We will then put on goggles, place the LED device over your face and turn it on. From there, you can just lay back, relax and enjoy the warm, calming sensation!

After your treatment, serums, moisturisers and SPF will be applied.

How long will the treatment take?

The duration of your appointment will depend on the treatment.
LED Facials take between 35 and 60 minutes.
However, an add-on is just 25 minutes. You can have a session alongside any of our skin and injectables treatments to improve healing and optimise results.

It can be a great option for new clients as it helps to strengthen the skin before commencing intensive treatments. It can also be used to treat acne, redness, inflammation, dullness, dehydration, fine lines, wrinkles and uneven skin tone and texture.

Injectables clients will also benefit from LED as it can minimise bruising, swelling and downtime.
