What peptides actually do in the skin and why winter is the right time to use them

What are peptides?
Peptides are short chains of amino acids, the building blocks of proteins. In the skin, the proteins that matter most are collagen, elastin, and keratin. When these proteins break down through ageing, UV exposure, and environmental stress, the fragments they leave behind act as signals to the skin that repair is needed.
Peptides work by mimicking those signals. Applied topically, they communicate with fibroblasts, the cells responsible for collagen and elastin production, and prompt the skin to produce more. Different peptide types do this in different ways.
Signal peptides stimulate collagen synthesis directly. Carrier peptides deliver trace minerals that support the wound healing process. Neurotransmitter-inhibiting peptides reduce the repetitive muscle contractions that contribute to expression lines.
